Here are a few common errors that we see students experience, and the initial troubleshooting you can do before submitting a ticket.

Microphone

Rosetta Stone uses voice-based activities. It is recommended you have a headset or a stand-alone microphone. If there is a microphone built into the computer, this will work, but the microphone clarity can sometimes give the voice-based activities difficulty.

Progress Not Saving

If Rosetta Stone is not saving your progress, check the activity in question. Review activities do not save progress when abandoned. They must be completed in one session. Milestone activities are the same; they must be completed in one session.

Items Displaying as Skipped or Not Seen

  • Make sure you are not clicking the skip button ">>", located in the lower right corner.

  • Please check the microphone is properly configured. Open any activity and click the "gear" icon in the top right corner. You should see a Settings window as shown below. Make sure a microphone is selected, adjust the speaker volume as needed, enable speech recognition, choose the voice type that best describes your voice, and use the pronunciation slider to adjust the difficulty.

If none of these solutions help your situation, please submit a ticket to our service desk detailing your issue.
